I guess I need to post something…
So I’ve been here in Austin for a couple weeks now. It’s been colder than I expected and colder than I’m used to, but it’s bearable. At least it’s not snowing (knock on wood).
All in all, it’s been good so far, although it’s a little dull during the weekends for me. I’ve been out a few times with Eric to some local clubs to get a taste of the local music scene. That’s the coolest part about Austin, the music. Ther second coolest part would have to be the food. Although I still haven’t found a Scotty B’s to hang out in, I have found some good places to eat. A place called Chuy’s has the best Tex-Mex food. Another place called the Broken Spoke has the best chicken fried steak I’ve ever tasted. And there’s some good BBQ here too, Texan style.Anyway, I like it here. It’s not bad. I do miss everyone in Florida though. I wish I could buy Texan Christmas presents for everybody, but logistically it’s impossible.
So I give you all, as my very special Texan Christmas present, a lovely tune by a local Austin musician named Robert Earl Keen:
Merry Christmas from the Family
